Hercules and Cacus

Description

Hercules and Cacus marble statue by Florentine artist Baccio Bandinelli (1525–1534) is located to the right of the entrance of the Palazzo Vecchio in the Piazza della Signoria of Florence, Italy. The statue was commissioned to compliment Michelangelo's David, which had been commissioned by the republican council of Florence, under Piero Soderini to commemorate the victory over the Medici Family.
