Pooley Angel, “Blue Angel”

Description

This is a slide sandwich photo montage of the Pooley Angel located in Ross Bay Cemetery, Victoria, Canada. The Pooley Angel is also known as the “Blue Angel” because she was the target of a vandal’s blue spray bomb which proved impossible to completely remove. She has also lost her right hand and rose to vandals. She is rumoured to cry during a full moon.

She marks the grave of Charles Edward Pooley who was a Member of Parliament (MLA) for the Esquimalt region from 1886-1904. He was also President of the Executive Council during the building of Victoria’s Parliament Buildings 1893-1902.
